For all types of DC / DC converters output voltage adjustment is available in the range of ± 5 %. Output voltage adjustment for DC / DC converters is carried out by means of connecting an external (at the customer’s equipment) adjusting resistor or resistor divider. The connection must be made on a special input adjustment.
Output voltage adjustment is available only for single channel converters. For AC / DC converters trimming output voltage is available for converters with the output power of 150 W or higher in the range of ± 5%. All of these converters have built-in variable resistor available to customers.
Additionally, the AC / DC power converters with output power of 700 W and higher, have the possibility of external output voltage adjustment through a special input entrance. Output voltage adjustment for AC / DC converters is carried out by means of connecting an external (at the customer’s equipment) adjusting resistor or resistor divider.
Resistance values of external resistors descenders for DC / DC and AC / DC converters depend on the output voltage and the inverter type. At your request, we will promptly provide all information necessary for the specific needs depending on the output voltage and the desired value of output voltage adjustment.
In the datasheets, the maximum output capacitance for each one particular output voltage is indicated. To obtain the maximum possible output capacitance for another output voltage it is necessary to calculate it, considering the fact that for each type of power supply, the value of Cout.max * Uout² is a constant.
For example, if the datasheet indicates the value of Sout.max of 10000mkF for 5 V , then for the voltage of 12 V, Cout.max value will be:
Yes. If the customer is not satisfied with the datasheet’ standard requirements, we can agree on customization, and produce a power supply according to the modified datasheet (as per particular requirements of the customer).
In some cases, upon a customer’s request (or upon the technical task), we can implement deep modernization, which captures not only the parameters, but also the design. Examples of such converters are available on our website under “Custom products" link.
For all types of DC / DC converters remote on / off switch is provided through special input ON / OFF. Remote ON / OFF can be controlled by mechanical contact switch or electric wrench open collector type. Turning off can be implemented by connecting the ON / OFF input with the –Uin input. In this case, the current does not exceed 5 mA, and the voltage drop should not exceed 0.5V.
For AC / DC converters remote on / off switch is provided for the power supplies of 150 W and above. Disabling is carried out by providing voltage of 3 ... 5 V to the outputs of «+ REM», «-REM». With a voltage of 5 V, current in this circuit does not exceed 5 mA. Outputs are galvanically isolated from the input and output circuits.
Yes, all of our DC/DC and AC/DC converters can be connected in parallel to increase the output power. Additionally, for DC/DC power supplies of 200 W and above , as well as in AC/DC power supplies of 200 W and above, there is a function of the active current equalization for parallel operation mode.
A more detailed description on parallel operation mode is presented in guiding technical materials ( RTM ) on our website.
For two-channel modules, Pnom is divided correspondingly – 50%/50%. For three-channel modules, Pnom between the channels is divided in the following way: 50% for the first channel, and 25% for the second and third channel. Each channel can be loaded by 30…100% of this channel´s Pnom.
For example, for a three-channel converter with a total input capacity of 100 watts, nominal power for the first channel is 50 W (load range 15..50 W), Pnom of the second and third channels is 25 W (load range 7,5 ... 25 W).
The operating temperature range refers to the temperature range of the case. Operating range of temperature is indicated in the title of the power supply with a corresponding letter index. Index «N» means the range between -40°C...+85°C, «P» stands for -50°C...+85°C, «T» stands for -60°C...+125°C.
For negative temperatures , the minimum operating case temperature coincides with the minimum ambient temperature. For positive temperatures, limit ambient temperature can be determined only by taking into account the actual power and a heat sink.
It is necessary to note that a power supply with the maximum operating case temperature of 125 ° C, compared with exactly the same power supply with the maximum operating case temperature of 85 ° C, will allow to use a smaller heat sink, or will allow to function without any heat sink at all.
